Terms & conditions

How this all works

These terms and conditions apply to all purchases made directly through Woodsmith, whether online, over the phone, or in person. They’re here to outline how we work, what you can expect from us, and what we expect in return.

We may refer to the pieces we make as furniture, cabinetry, products, or designs. Whichever word we use, it all points to the same thing: items built with care, intention, and craftsmanship.

If anything feels unclear or you have questions at any point, please contact us at will@woodsmithheritage.com. We’re always happy to help.

The fine print

We provide care and installation guidance for many of our designs. Following these instructions is essential, as we cannot be held responsible for any faults or damage that result from not doing so.

All purchases are for private use only. Our products are not intended for resale unless agreed in writing. We do not cover second-hand or resold items under our guarantees.

Woodsmith is a registered business. Our registered office is at Wellington Park Business Centre, 3 Wellington Park
Malone, Belfast, BT9 6DJ.

About our work

We use natural materials wherever possible. Variations in wood grain, tone, and texture are a natural part of the materials we work with. These are not considered flaws, but part of the character and beauty of handmade work.

We make every effort to ensure that descriptions, images, and prices listed on our website or in our materials are accurate. However, slight variations may occur, especially due to differences in screen settings. If you notice an issue, please do let us know.

Orders and payments

When placing an order for our products, payment terms will be agreed upon at the time of confirmation. In most cases:

For in-stock items, full payment is due at the time of order.
For made-to-order or bespoke designs, a 50% deposit is taken at confirmation, with the remaining 50% due 28 days prior to delivery.
Some custom projects may require full payment upfront. If this applies, we will advise before proceeding.

Quotes provided for bespoke work are valid for 28 days unless stated otherwise. Orders are only confirmed once the deposit or full payment has been received.

Delivery

We’ll arrange delivery based on your location and the nature of your order. Delivery fees and timelines will be clearly communicated before final confirmation.

For larger pieces or custom cabinetry, delivery may include placement in the room of your choice. In some cases, this also includes unboxing and removal of packaging. We’ll confirm the level of service before delivery.

If delivery needs to be rescheduled within eight weeks of your confirmed date, storage charges may apply. These will be discussed with you at the time.

If you are based outside of Northern Ireland or the UK, we will coordinate international shipping through trusted partners. Customs or import duties may apply and are the responsibility of the recipient.

Cancellations and returns

We hope you’ll be completely happy with your order, but we understand that sometimes things change.

For stock items, you may cancel before dispatch. Once received, you may return them within 28 days, provided they are unused and in their original packaging. Return shipping costs apply unless the item is faulty.
For made-to-order or bespoke designs, cancellations must be made within 7 days of placing your order. After this time, materials may have been sourced or work started, and the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.

We do not accept returns on custom work unless the item is faulty. Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery if anything appears damaged or incorrect. Photographic evidence may be required.

Guarantees

We stand by the quality of our craftsmanship. All furniture and cabinetry comes with a guarantee covering structural integrity under normal use.

Our guarantee does not cover:
– Natural changes in wood over time (such as tone variation or movement)
– Damage caused by misuse, improper care, or external factors such as moisture or sunlight
– General wear and tear, including surface scratches
– Modifications made by third parties
– Items used in commercial or outdoor settings unless otherwise agreed

We’ll always assess any reported issues on a case-by-case basis and work with you to find a fair resolution.

Legal rights

None of the above affects your statutory rights.

If you’d like to know more about your rights, or need support with a product or order, you can always get in touch at will@woodsmithheritage.com.
